How to get to Laiya Beach in San Juan, Batangas

Laiya Beach in San Juan Batangas is now fast becoming a new tourist destination for travelers who are just looking for a nice beach to stay and have fun without the crowds one often finds on other popular beaches.

First off we would need to go to Lipa Batangas, almost all major bus lines in here in Metro Manila have daily regular trips to Lipa City Batangas. As with my post How to get to Puerto Galera, you can also take the commercial buses like BLTB, JAM and TRITRAN. The JAM Bus Terminal is located along Edsa-Kamuning but its actually closer to Edsa-Timog. Normally a bus takes off every 30 minutes or so even in off-peak dates. The ticket for a one way trip costs also about 175 pesos and the trip is about 2 hours.
When you arrive at Lipa City, drop off at the terminal and you will need to get on a van to San Juan. The fare is about 150 pesos per person. The trip takes about 45 mins to an hour at max. Upon Arriving at San Juan, from there you will need to take a jeepney ride to Laiya, Laiya is actually a barangay of San Juan Batangas.

Here are some tips:
  • Be sure to get there in the morning, as there a no more Jeeps going to Laiya from San Juan after around 5pm
  • Be sure to have reservations, as resorts there a far from each other so walking might be a drag while looking for bargain places to stay

The city of previous San Juan was originally a military fastness. it's currently a captivating residential and business district with streets sealed with cobbles of blue stone. Over four hundred fastidiously fixed sixteenth century Spanish colonial buildings line the town.
